“Everybody’s Business-Hepatitis C (DVD/CD-ROM, 3rd Edition 2007) is a training package for educators specifically designed to assist in hepatitis C training with CALD communities in Australia. The training package contains a 20-minute hepatitis C DVD available in 9 languages: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Plain English, Indonesian, Khmer, Somali, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese. The training package also contains a facilitator’s manual CD_ROM which contains instructions, overheads and handouts for activities that can be used in hepatitis C education sessions. The overheads and handouts for each activity are available in all 9 languages and can be photocopied for CALD participants. Order forms for the DVD/CD-ROM training package will be available on the website from early June 2007.
“Hepatitis C is everybody’s business” is available as a brochure (or can be downloaded as a PDF) and has been developed to raise awareness of hepatitis C and is targeted to the general community, injecting drug users and young people from CALD backgrounds in Australia. It is available in multiple languages including Arabic, Bosnian, Chinese, Croatian, plain English, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Khmer, Korean, Macedonian, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese. “Hepatitis C Treatment” fact sheets can be downloaded as PDFs from the website. The fact sheets have been developed to cover basic information for people from CALD backgrounds undergoing hepatitis C treatment in Australia. “Hepatitis C in brief” is designed for people who have received a positive hepatitis C antibody test result and for people wanting more information about hepatitis C. Electronic copies of the resource can be downloaded from ASHM webpage. The resource is available in eight community languages including: Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Khmer, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

P.E.A.C.E (Personal Education And Community Empowerment) Multicultural service and resources provides free and confidential services to people from multicultural backgrounds to lead balanced and healthy lives. P.E.A.C.E provides support and education services on hepatitis C and HIV and hepatitis C brochures are available in English and Khmer.

MHSS is a statewide program of North Richmond Community Health Centre and works with CALD communities to reduce the risk of transmission of blood-borne viruses (BBV) and sexually transmissible infections (STI). It provides support and education services to individuals, families and community groups. MHSS also has brochures on HIV, hepatitis C and STI in English, Arabic, Vietnamese, Somali, Tigrigna and Amharic.

The Health Translations Online Directory is a Victorian government initiative that enables health practitioners, and those working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities to easily find reliable translated health information. The Directory provides web links to online multilingual resources across the health sector including government departments, peak health bodies, hospitals, community health centres and welfare agencies.
Australian state and territory health departments also have generic hepatitis C information available in different languages.
